Compared with ordinary carbon steel such as Q235, which has a yield strength of approximately 235 MPa, commonly used weathering steels such as ASTM A588 or S355J0WP typically achieve a yield strength of 345–355 MPa or higher, representing an overall structural strength improvement of about 40%–50%+. This significant increase allows for higher structural efficiency and greater span capacity under the same weight conditions.
