Overview
The S355J0WP Corten Plate (S355J0WP weathering steel plate) is a high-strength, hot-rolled structural steel (EN 10025-5) with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance.
Its main alloying elements are chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu), with added phosphorus (P), which gives s355j0wp corten excellent self-protecting capabilities.
When exposed to the atmosphere, the S355J0WP Corten Plate gradually develops a dense and stable protective rust layer (patina) that effectively shields the inner steel from further exposure, significantly enhancing its corrosion resistance.
This property minimizes or even eliminates the need for painting or external protection, making the S355J0WP weathering steel plate ideal for long-term outdoor applications with minimal maintenance requirements.
