1. Cutting Performance
Mechanical cutting (shearing, punching): Suitable for SPA-H plates of all thicknesses, producing neat straight edges with minimal burrs-ideal for batch cutting of regular shapes.
Thermal cutting (plasma, flame, laser): Flame cutting is for plates ≥6mm thick; plasma/laser cutting works for all thicknesses (especially thin plates). Laser cutting enables high-precision hollowing and irregular decorative patterns, perfectly meeting the custom shape needs of outdoor decorative components.
Key note: Simple deburring and grinding of cut edges are only required post-processing to prevent localized edge corrosion and ensure uniform patina formation on the entire surface.

2. Welding Performance
Compatible welding processes: All conventional methods are applicable, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG/MAG), and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). It is also suitable for on-site outdoor welding for component installation.

Filler metal selection: No special weathering steel welding materials are needed-standard low-carbon steel welding wires/electrodes (e.g., ER50-6, E4303) are sufficient, which greatly reduces processing costs.
Pre/post-welding treatment: No preheating is required at room temperature; for plates ≥20mm thick, only simple interpass temperature control is needed during welding. Post-welding heat treatment is unnecessary-simply clean weld slag and grind the weld seam to be smooth. The weld area will naturally form a reddish-brown patina consistent with the base metal, ensuring aesthetic uniformity of the component.
Key note: Avoid high welding current and fast welding speed to prevent excessive oxidation of the weld area; for welding in coastal high-salt environments, a thin layer of transparent breathable sealer can be applied to the weld seam for enhanced corrosion resistance.

Key Practical Tips
Always deburr and grind cut edges and weld seams after processing-this not only ensures a neat appearance but also prevents moisture accumulation at sharp corners from causing localized corrosion, facilitating uniform patina formation.
For outdoor decorative components with high aesthetic requirements, laser cutting (high precision, burr-free) and gas metal arc welding (MIG/MAG) (smooth welds, no spatter) are the optimal process combination.
For thick plates (≥16mm) during thermal cutting or welding, control the heat input properly to avoid thermal deformation of the plate, which affects the dimensional accuracy of decorative components.
