Products Description
EN 10025 S355J0WP steel plate is a specialized steel alloy that develops enhanced corrosion resistance when exposed to various atmospheric environments.
Its alloy composition contains approximately 0.20–0.25% copper, 0.30–0.50% chromium, and 0.25–0.45% nickel, enabling the natural formation of a stable protective oxide layer on the surface that effectively delays corrosion.
Its average annual corrosion rate typically ranges from 0.01–0.03 mm/year, significantly lower than ordinary carbon steel (0.1 mm/year or higher). In most uncoated applications, it can achieve a service life exceeding 50 years.
Compared to ordinary carbon steel, this type of plate offers superior durability, making it highly suitable for outdoor projects exposed to prolonged air and water contact.
Additionally, its naturally weathered reddish-brown to dark brown surface not only provides protection but also delivers a distinctive aesthetic appeal.
The weathering stabilization period generally ranges from 6–36 months, developing warm, uniform tones over time. It is widely used in bridges, building facades, sculptures, and similar applications.
These plates belong to a specific grade of Corten steel, designed to meet the standards of EN 10025-5. With a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 470–630 MPa, they offer enhanced structural strength while retaining the corrosion resistance advantages of traditional Corten steel. Suitable for diverse applications including architectural projects, bridges, industrial facilities, and marine structures requiring long-term durability.
