1. 2m length is commercially feasible and widely available

2. Feasibility by plate type (thickness matching facade needs)
Cold-rolled A588 (1.6–6mm): Ideal for 2m facade panels, with excellent dimensional precision and flatness; the thin gauge ensures minimal warpage or deformation in 2m lengths, suitable for flat cladding, decorative panels and lightweight facade components.
Hot-rolled A588 (3–12mm): Also available in 2m lengths for heavier facade panels (e.g., load-bearing cladding, textured facade units); slight inherent flatness deviations can be corrected via minor straightening during fabrication, meeting architectural installation requirements.

3. Fabrication and installation compatibility
Fabrication: Laser cutting, plasma cutting, gentle bending and welding (low-heat input) can all be applied to 2m lengths without compromising processing accuracy or steel performance.
Installation: 2m panels match the modular design of most building facades, are easy to transport and hoist (no special heavy equipment needed), and can be fixed with standard fasteners (bolts, clips) for on-site assembly.

4. Minor considerations for 2m panels
Flatness control: For hot-rolled A588 ≥8mm in 2m lengths, request factory straightening to avoid transportation/processing-induced warpage for high-precision facade installations.
Customization lead time: 2m is a non-stock custom length for some suppliers; confirm lead times (typically 3–10 business days) for cutting and processing to align with construction schedules.
Joint design: 2m panels allow for fewer vertical joints on the facade, improving aesthetic continuity and reducing water seepage risks at joints (simplifies sealant and gasketing work).
