1. Adjust humidity and wet‑dry cycles
To darken the color quickly:Create moderate, frequent wet‑dry cycles - spray water regularly and let the surface dry completely within 12–24 hours.
To keep the color lighter and slow down darkening:Reduce moisture, keep the surface dry, and avoid frequent wetting.
To improve uniformity:Ensure full drying before each re‑wetting; avoid long‑term dampness.
2. Adjust sunlight and ventilation
To get darker, more even color:Provide sufficient sunlight and good ventilation.
To slow color change and keep it lighter:Use shading or semi‑indoor placement with diffused light.
Avoid shaded areas that cause uneven tone.

3. Control atmospheric environment
In industrial / high‑SO₂ atmosphere:Patina becomes darker and forms faster.If too dark: increase cleaning to remove dust and pollutants.
In coastal / high‑salt environment:Rinse regularly with clean water to reduce salt; improve drainage and drying to avoid patchy color.
In clean rural atmosphere:Color is lighter and more even; use mild wet‑dry cycles to deepen appropriately.
4. Control rain exposure and drainage
Install vertically or at a steep slope for fast water runoff → uniform color.
Avoid horizontal surfaces that trap water → streaks and light patches.
During heavy or long rain: temporarily cover to prevent over‑soaking.

5. Control temperature
In high temperature:Oxidation is faster → color darkens quicker; reduce spraying frequency slightly.
In low temperature:Reaction and drying slow down → extend drying time, reduce wetting.
Avoid freezing conditions when wetting the surface.
6. Stabilize the environment to fix the color
Once the desired color is reached:
Keep the environment stable and dry;
Reduce changes in humidity, temperature and light;
Or use a transparent protective coating to completely lock the color.
