1. In sunny & warm weather (ideal for patina)
Spray clean water evenly 1 time per day (early morning or evening).
Keep the cycle: wet for 30–60 minutes, dry completely within 12 hours.
Ensure full ventilation and sunlight for even drying.
This gives the fastest, most uniform color development.
2. In high humidity / cloudy / rainy weather
Stop artificial spraying; avoid adding extra moisture.
Prevent long‑term soaking: cover if heavy or continuous rain.
Ensure good drainage to eliminate standing water.
Extend the cycle to 24–48 hours to allow full drying.
Excess humidity causes loose, pale, uneven rust.

3. In dry / arid / windy weather
Increase spraying appropriately: 1–2 times per day.
Maintain moderate surface moisture to promote oxidation.
Avoid rapid drying that causes unevenness.
Wind helps drying, but too much wind may require more frequent light spraying.
4. In cold / low‑temperature weather
Oxidation and drying are slower; reduce spraying frequency (once every 2–3 days).
Use slightly warmer water if possible; avoid freezing.
Extend the cycle to 24–48 hours to ensure full drying.
Do not wet when near or below freezing.

5. In polluted / industrial / coastal areas
Industrial (SO₂): patina forms fast - reduce wetting to avoid overly dark color.
Coastal (salt): rinse with clean water first to remove salt; then control mild cycles.
Both require strict full drying to prevent loose rust.
6. In sheltered / indoor / workshop conditions
Use automatic spraying + fans / heating to simulate ideal outdoor cycles.
Fixed cycle: 30–60 min wet → 4–8 h dry.
This gives the most stable and controllable patina.
