1. Ferritic stainless steel: This type of stainless steel contains 12% to 30% chromium. As the chromium content increases, its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability will also increase accordingly. It is particularly worth mentioning that ferritic stainless steel has better resistance to chloride stress corrosion than other types of stainless steel, which makes it more applicable in certain specific environments.
2. Austenitic stainless steel: This type of stainless steel contains more than 18% chromium, about 8% nickel and a small amount of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen and other elements. The addition of these elements gives austenitic stainless steel excellent comprehensive properties and can withstand corrosion from a variety of media.
In addition to the above two main materials, materials such as austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel and martensitic stainless steel are also used to manufacture weathering steel plates. Weathering steel plates of these materials also perform well in specific application scenarios.
