The Specification of high weathering steel Q355GNH h shaped iron beam

Oct 22, 2025 Leave a message

According to the standard, Q355GNH H-shaped beams are classified into four grades: Q295GNH, Q355GNH, Q265GNH, and Q310GNH.

Q355GNH H-section steel belongs to the category of weathering structural steel. The letter "Q" indicates yield strength, with a minimum yield value of 355 MPa, while "GNH" represents high resistance to atmospheric corrosion.

Compared with ordinary carbon steel, Q355GNH high weathering H-beam offers 2–8 times higher corrosion resistance and 1.5–10 times longer coating durability.

In addition, it is inherently rust-resistant, which effectively enhances component lifespan, reduces material thickness and consumption, and contributes to labor and energy savings.

Q355GNH H-type weathering steel beams are primarily used in structures exposed to the open air for extended periods, such as railways, vehicles, bridges, transmission towers, and similar applications.

They are also widely applied in the fabrication of containers, railway rolling stock, oil drilling rigs, marine structures, offshore platforms, and equipment used in chemical or petroleum industries-particularly in environments containing hydrogen sulfide or other corrosive agents.
