09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate is a high-strength, low-alloy structural steel designed to provide excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Cr can improve the passivation ability of 09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate, form a dense oxide film on its surface, and slow down the growth rate of rust layer. When Cu and Cr are added at the same time, the effect is particularly significant.
S not only deteriorates the atmospheric corrosion resistance of 09CuPCrNi-A weathering steel, but also may cause "hot embrittlement" damage to 09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate, and the sulfide inclusions seriously reduce the mechanical properties of 09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate.
P can effectively improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of 09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate, but if the content of P is too high, it is easy to form segregation, resulting in "cold brittle" phenomenon, which affects the welding and low-temperature impact toughness of 09CuPCrNi-A weather-resistant steel plate. The elements P and S are strictly controlled, and the ultra-low P and S content design is adopted.
