Both S355J0WP Weathering steel and S355J2WP Weathering steel Plate are European standard atmospheric corrosion-resistant steels. Their defining characteristic is the formation of a dense protective rust layer on the surface when exposed to atmospheric conditions, thereby effectively resisting corrosion.
By incorporating specific alloying elements (such as P, Cu, Cr, Ni, Mo) into the steel, a stable, self-forming protective oxide layer gradually develops on the base metal surface under climatic conditions. This enhances atmospheric corrosion resistance by 2–8 times compared to ordinary carbon steel.
Regarding mechanical properties, both steels exhibit a yield strength (plate thickness ≤16 mm) of no less than 355 MPa, tensile strength ranging from 470–630 MPa, and elongation ≥20%.
Additionally, in -20°C impact tests, S355J2WP Corten steel Plate exhibits impact energy ≥ 27 J, demonstrating superior low-temperature toughness, while S355J0WP Corten steel Plates requires impact energy ≥ 27 J at 0°C, making it suitable for diverse climatic conditions.
With their outstanding weather resistance and strength properties, S355J0WP and S355J2WP Hot Rolled Corten steel plates are widely used in vehicle manufacturing, bridge construction, tower structures, containers, and other steel structures exposed to atmospheric environments for extended periods. This application not only extends service life but also reduces long-term maintenance costs.

As a weathering steel plate, the impact toughness test temperature requirement of S355J2W corten metal sheet is -20℃. Compared with S355J0W corten steel sheet metal, it has higher impact toughness and can maintain structural integrity and safety in a more severe low temperature environment.

The impact toughness of S355J2W corten sheet in low temperature environment is better than that of S355J0W corten steel material, which makes S355J2W corten steel plate more widely used in structural parts that need to withstand lower temperature environments.
