Products Description

09CrCuSb tube is a kind of alloy steel tube widely used in preheater and heat exchanger. It is widely used in power plants and refineries to manufacture coal economizers, air preheaters, heat exchangers and evaporators which work in high sulfur flue gas to resist condensation corrosion of sulfur flue gas.

09CrCuSb

The low-alloy ND steel 09CrCuSb, which is resistant to sulfuric acid dew point corrosion for seamless steel tubes, plates, forgings and special welding materials, was prepared by smelting in ultra-high power electric furnace, refining outside furnace and vacuum degassing.

It is characterized by the formation of a dense passivation film rich in Cr, Cu, Sb and Ti on its surface during the corrosion process, so it has a high anticorrosion ability.

Heat Treatment State

The ND (09CrCuSb) grade Corten seamless steel pipes are typically supplied in normalized (N) or annealed (A) condition to achieve an optimized microstructure and balance between strength and ductility.

Normalizing temperature: 880–910°C

Annealing temperature: 750–780°C

Cooling method: Air cooling or furnace cooling depending on thickness
This treatment enhances corrosion resistance and ensures stable mechanical performance under fluctuating thermal conditions.

Dimensional Range

Corten ND (09CrCuSb) seamless steel pipes are available in a broad dimensional spectrum to suit various industrial and architectural applications:

Parameter Range / Specification
Outer Diameter (OD) 6 mm – 2500 mm
Wall Thickness (WT) 1 mm – 150 mm
Length Up to 12,000 mm
Tolerance ±1% (OD), ±10% (WT)
Surface Finish Hot rolled, pickled, or polished
End Type Plain end / Beveled end / Threaded

These options allow for flexible customization according to project and design requirements.

Advantages of Corten Steel

Corten steel offers exceptional weathering resistance and long-term durability. Compared with standard carbon steel, it provides 5–8 times longer service life in outdoor environments.

Key advantages include:

Superior corrosion resistance: Forms a stable oxide layer that reduces further corrosion by up to 90%.

High tensile strength: Typically ≥450 MPa, ensuring reliable load-bearing capacity.

Excellent toughness: Maintains performance at temperatures as low as -20°C.

Aesthetic value: The characteristic rust-orange patina develops naturally, reducing maintenance and enhancing visual appeal.

Main Applications

With a balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and visual appeal, ND (09CrCuSb) Corten seamless steel pipes are used across multiple industries:

Application Area Typical Use
Construction & Bridges Load-bearing columns, beams, façade supports
Energy & Industry Heat exchangers, economizers, air preheaters
Infrastructure Drainage systems, pipelines for corrosive fluids
Architecture & Design Outdoor sculptures, garden edging, landscape walls
