09CrCuSb seamless steel tubes, commonly referred to as ND corrosion-resistant steel pipes, are low-alloy structural tubes engineered for outstanding resistance to sulfuric acid dew point corrosion and chloride-induced degradation.

The optimized alloy composition-Cr (0.70–1.20%), Cu (0.25–0.45%), and Sb (0.04–0.10%)-promotes the formation of a compact, self-healing protective oxide film when exposed to acidic condensates, thereby ensuring exceptional durability and long-term stability even in corrosive industrial atmospheres.
Manufactured by hot rolling or cold drawing, ND seamless tubes are available in diameters from 1/2 inch to 5 inches (12.7–127 mm), wall thicknesses from 0.8 mm to 13 mm, and lengths up to 18 meters, with customized dimensions available upon request. Various surface protection treatments-including galvanization, varnish coating, and anti-corrosion finishes-enhance the product's service life in harsh conditions.
Each batch of ND steel pipes undergoes stringent quality inspection, such as hydrostatic, ultrasonic, eddy-current, and corrosion resistance testing. In the acid resistance test (50% H₂SO₄ at 70 ± 2 °C for 24 h), the average corrosion rate must not exceed 80–140 g/m²·h, fully meeting or exceeding GB 150.2-2011 standards.
Thanks to its high yield strength (≥245 MPa), tensile strength (415–550 MPa), and excellent anti-acid performance below 200 °C, 09CrCuSb ND steel tube is widely utilized in economizers, air preheaters, heat exchangers, condensers, and evaporators in power generation, petrochemical, and refinery installations. Its chloride and sulfuric acid resistance make it ideal for marine and desulfurization environments.
When compared with ASTM A106 carbon steel or Corten-type weathering steel, 09CrCuSb exhibits up to 20–30 times better corrosion resistance under acid dew conditions, yet remains 40% more economical than stainless steel-a perfect balance between performance and cost.
ND steel also features excellent weldability, requiring no preheating or post-weld heat treatment when using NDS electrodes, and supports easy fabrication and on-site assembly.
